IME rentals on sale now!

Postby Aaron on Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:22 pm

IME has started selling off the plastic boots, crampons, and ice axes they rented this season. They do this each year, and once they start selling them the gear has a tendency to go fast.

Tom and I were there this weekend and there were lots of boots available, both on tables in the main part of the store as well as the upstairs. Many were Koflachs, though of course there were other brands as well. Prices seemed to be somewhere between $130 and $180 for the Koflach Degres, which usually sell for about $240 new. Ice axes and crampons were also being sold.

I know some of you are interesting in purchasing mountaineering gear, and the sooner you can get up there the better. I'd be happy to drive up there some afternoon this week. If anyone is interested in going, post here and we can arrange a time and day.

I didn't see any snowshoes on sale, Mike, but it might be worth calling and asking! EMS and Ragged Mountain would be two other places to check in regards to selling off rental snowshoes as well.

Hope to see you around soon.
